Happy Earth Day folks! I hope each of you is taking a moment today to reflect on what you can do to ensure that our planet remains healthy for future generations. We can all make a few small changes in our daily lives that will help to sustain our planet's resources. Some of the small changes I've made over the past year include switching to recycled paper products, using "green" household cleaning products (my favorite brand is Seventh Generation), using reusable shopping bags when I go shopping, and I also use a stainless steel water bottle (my pink kleen kanteen bottle is always at my side). Now that I've shared how I'm becoming more eco-conscious, tell me what you are doing or are planning to do to become more eco-conscious and you might win this Intro to Green gift set. The gift set contains a reusable travel mug, a fluorescent light bulb, the "Green Book", an Envirosax reusable tote, a bamboo cutting board, natural liquid hand soap, and a bamboo box.
How the Giveaway works:
1. The Earth Day giveaway runs until Tuesday, April 28th 11:59PM EST.
2. To enter you must (1) leave a comment on this blog telling me what you are doing or planning to do to become more eco-conscious and (2) sign up for news and updates from That Perfect Something here.
3. One winner will be randomly selected and announced on this blog on Wednesday, April 29th.

I signed up for the newsletter. The many ways I'm becoming more eco-conscious are using the reusable grocery bags instead of getting plastic bags every time I go grocery shopping, and increasing where I walk to instead of driving.

The thing I have recently begun doing and plan on doing more of is picking up all the trash along the side of the road. Tons of it.
ReplyDeleteOh, how lovely!
ReplyDeleteI've always composted, recycled, scavenged and salvaged...ah, the joys of growing up with environmental scientist parents! But this year my husband and I are gearing up to build a house-all out of scavenged material and zero-emission! We're very excited!
But that of course will do nothing to address the Bag Issue. I never have enough cloth bags! And I would so love to replace my tattered plastic cutting board with bamaboo...
signing up with glee, by the way!
Great gift! I signed up for updates and news.
ReplyDeleteI am trying to give up bottled water, and am trying to use reusable grocery bags.

I plan on packing wastefree lunches! I always feel so guilty when I have baggies and plastic water bottles. I do recycle, though, but it's not nearly as effective as just not using the bags at all.
ReplyDeleteWe are recycling more items, shopping garage sales, using the clothes dryer less, and walking more. I signed up.

We're really trying to be more conscious as to what we use in our home - chemicals, cleaning detergents, etc. I know it's harmful to our bodies AND the earth...so we have a goal to be all natural with our cleaners - we're working on it!
ReplyDeleteI subscribed for email updates with my champagne60 at windstream dot net email account.
Fun giveaway!

Will turn it up or not run the air at all this summer. I have reusable bags for the grocery, Hanging some clothes on the clothesline in the basement. I don't have room for one in the yard. Great giveaway! I really opened my eyes this year to the excess waste I was creating so I've started taking the necessary steps to reduce my carbon footprint - using reuseable totes, using reuseable produce bags, commuting to work when possible, and now that it's warming up outside I open the windows instead of use the AC.
ReplyDeleteWe've started growing a garden to cut back on the travel time to the grocery store, and the travel of the veggies from farms to the store.
ReplyDeleteI plan to get individual bins in order to organize my paper, plastic, aluminum recyclables and take them to the center.
