  1. The best gift I ever gave my mom was a grandbaby for mother's day. She cried. Incidentally it was my best mothers day present too. LOL. Thanks for the great Mother's Day gift ideas!

  2. I've given my mom lots of random things for Mother's Day, but I think the best thing to her was a card I made her my first year of college, 300 miles away from home. I thanked her for everything she'd done for me, and she cried when she read it.

  3. I once made my mother a quilt, albeit small, and on each of the squares I had written one thing she had done for me that shaped me into the great woman and excellent mother I am today. She takes it with her everywhere.

  4. The best gift we ever gave my mom for mothers day was the year I took her away to visit her sister for a week. Before leaving town my 5 brothers and sisters and I had been in cahoots and busy shopping to have everything they would need to redo the dining room in her house into a Daycare Room. She was starting a home daycare. It turned out fantastic, and the look on her face when we arrived back home. We arrived on Mothers Day!! They had dinner, a cake and the beautiful toy filled Daycare Room. Great fun!!!

  6. The best gift I have given to my Mother for Mother's Day: My mom made my wedding dress when I got married 5 years ago. Last year, as a thank you to my mom for Mother's Day, I did a photo shoot with a local photographer in my wedding dress and chose 3 pictures and had them framed for her.

  7. My mother is no longer living so when I think back on gifts I have given her I believe the one she really liked best was a potted geranium. She kept it alive for several years and it grew into a very big plant and was beautiful! I signed up for your newsletter.

  8. My sister and I had a Mom day for our Mom. We took her into the city, we had a real afternoon tea and a tea shoppe, we took her to Golden Gate park, rode the trolley, went shopping, took her to her favorite resturant on the waterfront and just spent the whole day with her.

I think my best gift was a washer and dryer set for my mom. The dryer went out one day and I thought that my poor mom was going to have a meltdown because it was just one more thing to go wrong in a pretty terrible week. I went to my soon-to-be hubby and told him that I really felt like I needed to help my mom out because I knew it would be a while before she'd be able to afford a new dryer. Turns out, we got a better deal buying the set than we would have gotten seperatly, so we just got both. I was so excited to give them to her, but I managed to keep it a surprise until the delivery guys showed up. My mom cried! It wasn't until then that I found out my parents had NEVER owned a NEW washer and dryer, they had always had to buy used ones to save money. I realized right then how much my mom had sacrificed and struggled to raise our family over the years and I was so happy that I was able to get her something that meant so much to her.

    Thanks for the great giveaway!

  10. I don't know if it's my best gift, but the most cherished gift I ever gave was a cross-stitch I made for my grandma when I was 10 or 11. That was close to thirty years ago and she still has it hanging in her living room. That's true love!

  12. I think the best gift that I've given my mother was a home cooked meal just for her. Went out and bought all the ingredients and spent the whole day preparing it for her. I don't really know how to cook so cooking an entire meal by myself was a big thing.

  14. The best mothers day gift I have given was when I was 7 or 8 years old. My grandmother was a potter and I secretly made my mother a vase at her house. I then picked flowers from my grandmothers garden and filled the vase with them. My mother is an avid gardener and knew immediately where the flowers were from and was so surprised I had made the vase without her knowing.

  15. I would have to say that what my mom has loved most that I have given her was a silhouette of my profile that I gave her when I was in 5th grade (I had made it in school).

  16. Great contest! Thank you for offering!

The best I ever gave my Mom was a journal that was specifically designed for Mom's. It had pages of various questions like "What is your favorite childhood memory?" or "What was your dream job as a child?" She gave it back to me as a Xmas gift and I absolutely cherish it!
